If Web works, but Mac does not work, that's more probably an issue on your side. Maybe you accidentally blocked Mac app or something like that.

Just the Mac application I can login to the website. The current/latest/last version of the Mac app as I am using is version 0.93

Ah! Just tried it again and the Mac app worked!

eBay strike again?

Fortunately I have only missed one item due to this and it is not one I am too upset about. I used to use Jbidwatcher and missed quite a few items due to its own eBay released glitches.

Currently I have no snipes outstanding. The problem is logging in to the Mac application using valid eBay user name and password as tested in a web-browser. I do have watched items that it would normally list - if it could login.

I have even tried installing the app on a different Mac, logging in again successfully via the web-browser on this separate Mac and still cannot get the Mac application to allow logging in.

As also mentioned I previously have had to reset the password before as reported by others, but on all previous occasions once I have done this I have been able to get the applications to login using the new password.

Is there any additional logging information I could obtain for you that would assist in diagnosing this issue?

Like others I have on several occasions had eBay flag my account for suspicious activity and force a password change. This as per other posts here has clearly been caused by the myibidder app and eBay having a fallout and is down to eBay being hostile to sniping apps.

Up until now resetting the password and logging back in with the Mac 0.93 version of myibidder worked and I could setup new snipes.

This week after having to change the password yet again I can no longer get myibidder to login at all. Since this is a login problem it would I would have thought not be related to the snipping/bidding captcha problem.

I can login to the eBay website using the same username and password, and I could even get JBidWatcher to login although it fails to snipe due to the captcha issue.

Since the login problem for the Mac myibay Auction Bid Sniper application is a new problem is anyone else seeing a similar issue and are there any suggestions for getting round this?

If the sniper got a message that your login was refused, it will mark it as invalid to avoid eBay blocking it due to possible multiple failed logins.
Then the sniper will be waiting for you to relogin to confirm your login information.

As stated, I have not changed my eBay login details. If eBay is not recognising the password Myibidder is providing then a sync issue has mysteriously materialised from nowhere.

Your login was refused by eBay with "Invalid user/password" message. This is the only thing what was provided by eBay. From the sniper's point of view the login is not valid.
When you see it, please relogin to the sniper using your current login information to keep it in sync.

You took it out of the context. Please check the whole message.
The context was is that no sniper can guarantee winning.
For example, if eBay is not responding for 10 minutes, then all last second bids around that time will fail (even if you snipe manually).

I just don't want you to assume that sniping provides 100% guarantee that you won the item. Even manual sniping does not provide 100% guarantee.

In English that can only be construed in one way: don't use our app if you want to be certain of winning an item. Strangely, I DO always want to win auctions I enter - that is what serious collecting is about.
I only posted on this forum because I was hoping that you might be able to give me some reassurance regarding this ongoing, intermittent issue. You have been unable to do this. So, as stated at the beginning of this conversation, I cannot continue to use Myibidder.

There is no such thing in my response.
I just mentioned that no sniper can provide you 100% guarantee. That's by design and you need to keep it in mind when you decide if you want to get the item as a "great deal" or you want to get the item "no matter what".

As I mentioned earlier, you have to bid manually as high as possible and as early as possible (you saw the listing when you were online).
This is the only way you can have 100% guarantee. Anything else is a chance, more or less.
Please keep it in mind.

Unfortunately, I was in a remote rural area over the weekend, with no land line, no mobile signal, no means of communicating with the outside world at all. It is for times like this that I need Myibidder to be robust and reliable.
It is very, very unfortunate that eBay rejected your IP address when bidding for such an historically important item.

That was over 3 days ago and the issue was gone on the same day.
There is no agreement between eBay and other snipers. I wish it was since eBay would settle many things more reliably if they has.

Please note that no sniper guarantee winning.
If you need a guarantee, you have to bid manually as high as possible and as early as possible.
Yes, you will pay much more, but you will win it guaranteed.
The sniper offers you a chance to win it for lower price in exchange for a slight possibility to lose due to possible issues like this.

I thought this issue had been resolved!
On 19 March eBay declined to place my bid on item 222437852008 ("eBay requires verification code").
Sadly, I cannot trust this system any more, and will not be using Myibidder for important items again. I know the problem is originating with eBay, but if Myibidder and eBay cannot come to some sort of arrangement over this, it is not a system I can trust. This was the most important item to pass through eBay in my collecting field for over 10 years, and I am deeply upset that my bid was not placed.

Никак самому нельзя порешать. Надо только ждать. Обычно это быстро, но бывают исключения и может занимать до нескольких дней.

Редко бывает, что блок долго висит. Если нет времени ждать, то самое простое -- это создать новый логин для eBay (PayPal и остальное можно использовать те же).

Возможно, неверный пароль или eBay поставил временный блок. Они обычно его убирают через 24 часа.
Если всё равно не получается зайти на снайпер, то надо ещё раз пароль сменить.

Ebay сбрасывал пароли, я менял и заходил , делал ставки.
А позавчера после смены пароля ebay до сих пор не пускает на www.myibidder.com, пишет Wrong UserID or Password. ставки которые успел поставить тоже по этой причине проиграны

Там их много что бы перечислять. Часто на eBay просто спрашивают какой провайдер (основные ColoCrossing, IS Prime, Choopa) или просто могут сказать что-то вроде "Был логин из Нью Джерси. Это твой?".
К сожалению, каждый человек задаёт по-разному об одном и том же, поэтому готового рецепта нет.

На своём личном аккаунте сменил пароль пару раз, после этого проблем не было.
У всех по-разному. Советуют связаться с eBay и сказать им, что эти логины были твои что бы они больше не блокировали.

Нет, проблема не решена. Все равно не работает.
У меня тоже второй раз Ebay за месяц сбрасывает пароль. Первый раз менял в снайпере, все работало. При последней смене, зашел в снайпер для аналогичной замены, заменил, сохранил и вышел.
Тем ни менее лот проиграл. Надпись -Refused login)
В чем проблема? (291930774006).
Cейчас снова зашел в снайп, еще раз перенабрал новый пароль и сохранился. Но я уже не уверен...

Wow, that's steep. Just proves that each rep is different. They are usually more friendly and have no issues with sniping - eBay could've blocked sniping if they actually wanted it, but sniping brings more buyers since many would not bid at all if not for sniping.

i just got off the phone with customer support and she basically told me my activity wasn't legal, ebay doesn't support snipers, and the extra login security isn't going anywhere. f**k ebay tho seriously.

There is nothing changed on the sniper's side to trigger the issue.
I know eBay is a live system and they have changes almost on the daily basis. I'm sure something got changed on their side to start acting up like this.

Yes, the sniper's connection attempts probably triggered that, but it was doing this for years with no such issues.
I got my password request when I was offline and I had no snipes pending or sniping. I had one snipe done about 2 days before that, but I was offline at that time too.
So it seems like eBay had implemented some complicated logic to track it.

I think if we'll keep suggesting eBay to have some kind of white list manageable by users where they can specific certain IPs which should not be blocked, that will solve the issue.

Approximately 2 weeks ago I started having a major issue with
my snipes being rejected and requiring I reset my ebay password. After daily conversations (some quite heated) with
Ebay, I have concluded the problem is in fact with Mybidder.
I don't know why or how the ISP address or addresses Mybidder is using are now causing a problem, but apparently if I am
logged on to ebay while snipes are being executed by Mybidder, Ebay's security protocalls trigger and block the
account due to concerns about unauthorized access from multiple ISP addresses at the same time. I have used Mybidder
for years without triggering Ebay security protocalls.
I must conclude Mybidder has changed something recently which trigger those security protocalls. If not resolved
promptly, I will be forced to find a new auction sniping
service.

When eBay reset your password, the sniper has no way to know your new password until you sync it by loging in to the sniper using it.

You may try to contact eBay's Account security department and tell them this was actually authorized (you authorized the sniper to bid after all) and you don't want it to be blocked in the future.

When it works it's perfect. It didn't work. I changed the ebay password, changed the ibidder to the same, added in new bids, 4,5,6 days later, same again. Verification needed, bids blocked. At ebay message: unauthorised access password deacvtiavted, telling me pick new password. I have given up.

The issue repeated on Oct 23rd, but it looks good as of now.

It depends on the other 3rd party software. Most 3rd party software don't deal with passwords and so captcha issue does not apply to it.

Thank you for your very quick, and courteous follow-up. The auction on which Ebay requested a verification ended 23/October. Here is the auction number: 381807410818. As you will see, mine was the winning bid, but this was placed by another third party service. Oddly, Ebay did not require a verification code from the other third party service (yet for this auction, Ebay did require the capcha from Myibidder).

Obviously, the sniper can't control eBay's captcha because it's enabled by eBay.
It's possible the rep was not really clear on what's going on and so provided such advice.

Anyway, did you have an issue with your snipe placed today? Because I see no issues as of now.
If yes, please provide the item number. If you don't want to share it on the public forums, you can send it to the support directly.

Myibbidder is a wonderful tool, and so thank you for all the good work and support.

About two weeks ago the error message started appearing: "eBay requires verification code." I called Ebay then, and customer service indicated they could not offer support nor suggestions to allow auto-snipes to go through, as this is a security issue. They suggested instead to contact third-party support. Hoping all was resolved, I placed a bid today, but unfortunately received the same error: "eBay requires verification code."

You may be right, but I personally see no point in targeting snipers because many users have no way to snipe manually and so eBay will lose in the long run.

I suspect that eBay is rolling out new changes related to account security. Who knows, maybe there will be a dashboard where you can specify a list of allowed IP addresses.
That would resolve the issue and still protect your account from real unauthorized access.

I only use Myibidder and never bid manually. Ebay is therefore only receiving bids from your IP address. This suggests they are intentionally targeting snipers.

For me, the problem started on 10 October 2016.

It seems like it was back again. I did some additional changes to mitigate it and it appears to be fine.

As mentioned before, several users reported that it helped them to call eBay and ask to allow to login to their accounts from other IP addresses.
Once the restriction is lifted, their snipes appear to be good.

After all, eBay does not want to lose your bids and I think they understand that.

..well, I lost a good snipe also today, seems they look in the moment at german users...
First I got a " Nicht autorisierte Nutzung Ihres Kontos – dringender Handlungsbedarf" email and my account was frozen.
Then I lost the following snipes:
Item #152278438933
and
Item #361773193558

Had to reset my password to reactivate my ebay account. I can not recommend to use in the moment this service until this is resolved. Could be possibly that ebay also listens in..be carefull.

Hi, Had 4 failed bids (on the items I would have won or a very good price) due to 1st "eBay requires verification code", and then 3x "Temporary suspension due to eBay captcha"

I just had the same issue overnight. A few days ago I successfully sniped an auction. Soon after I received the eBay security email suggesting they had seen fraudulent activity. I changed my password (and updates Myibidder wit the new password. Then last night the first snipe after the password change failed with the message "eBay requires verification code". The item number was 112168007616.

The issue was already resolved as other users reported.
I see no point in removing every app from the store if it failed something, while it worked fine for years.
Especially apps which heavily relies on external services which are not under its control.

Seems the other snipe progrsms have already dealt with this issue. The fact that this app is still available for purchase on the apple store when it is nonfunctional is not right

Please try change your sever IP address if possible. Your IP might have been black-listed.

Also affected by this problem. The first few come across as 'Verification code needed', then the rest - 'Refused login (Password problems?)'

eBay is a complex system. They always do something, sometimes it's good, sometimes it does not work as expected.
Every sniper should keep up with their changes to stay online. Some changes are minor, some are not. The captcha is not minor and it takes more time to make it work properly.

If you don't see the captcha, that does not mean it's not there.
I think the reason for the captcha is that the sniper triggers eBay's anti-fraud protection system due to the nature of the sniper (placing bids on your behalf).
That's why the sniper can see the captcha, while you don't.

P.S., I just manually bid on an item auction and it required no verification to place the bid, so I am not sure where the captcha code is you referred to as being the reason mybidder is not working
